CIJ #2: McSweeney's Internet Tendency

Today's Creative Internet Jewel is McSweeney's Internet Tendency!

Find it here: http://www.mcsweeneys.net/tendency

McSweeney's Internet Tendency is a humor site (an offshoot of McSweeney's.net) comprised of numerous facetious articles. But unlike the upfront snark of Cracked or The Onion, McSweeney's takes a more subtle, clever route, often satirizing pop-culture with a stone-cold poker face that could only have been induced by the Snake-haired villain herself.
Curses, McSweeney's! I can take away your jeopardizing facial expressions, but not your sense of humor!

I've ever heard someone perform a monologue once that was a McSweeney's article, from the perspective of an adult version of that baby who's artistically painted on plates. Sorry, I'm not doing it justice. But it's stuff like that.

Some of my favorite articles involve taking a plain thing and reworking it in a number of different styles. For example, taking a sentence about a sandwich and putting it into different literary genres, or giving you directions to the author's house based on any number of locations you might be currently at (including from a chessboard as an ant or from Hell).

If you'd like a good chortle, this is the best place I'd recommend. Let me know some of your favorite McSweeney's articles or other CIJs I should feature!
